What is so sad about this demolition - there was nothing “visibly” wrong with LHS! However, when you look at so many of the disgraceful photos on your site of run-down, disgusting buildings that are left standing in what once was our beautiful city - it makes you wonder what the crazy people that run it are thinking! That was money spent on one building that could have taken down many other s that needed it much more. I am curious to see what they do with the site and how long it will remain a mess.

Lisa,
The inside of the high school needed A LOT of work. There was asbestos in the basement, and a host of other problems that would’ve been very costly to remedy. The difference between the school coming down and the other dilapidated buildings in the City staying up, is that Lorain City Schools owned this property and private citizens own the others. I can do a follow-up to this, as there is construction already in progress for a new school.
